"The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace.” Mahatma Gandhi
Dr. Giovannoni conceived the term Society’s Safe-Keepers™ (SSK) to identify noble professionals in the forensic field. They include nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, probation officers, and parole officers, and other law enforcement officers and military personnel who believe in justice and human dignity. They promote faith, hope, and peace. They use their wisdom, skills, knowledge, and authority with compassion. They nurture a deep sense of justice, respect and a healthy society. Dr. Giovannoni practices in Hawaii, USA. He treats adjudicated sex offenders who exhibit multiple problems including, substance abuse, and mental illness.
Building safer communities cannot be accomplished without human caring, love and compassion. The solution to violence cannot be found in fear and retribution, nor can it be solely problem-focused. It has to emerge by understanding the nature of our commonalities as human beings. It is the denial of our universal interconnectedness that separates humanity, fosters self-centeredness, a lack of concern for others, and promotes violence.
